Literature Text
He saves people from the cruelty
of themselves and the world gently
guiding them along the path of their
best interest and future.
He teaches lessons without ever
preaching and often tells stories of his
own in order to make his point (most are
amusing to the listeners.)
To help cure a broken heart or maybe
just a cold he cooks a little something up
and somehow the patient always
feels better.
He knows about the world and never
fails to want to help show it to everyone.
(I do believe we have been to every worth
while park in the city)
He knows of almost every random subject
you could ever possibly want
to know and although there may be a time
when he doesn't, he will help you learn about
all it's amazing features that made it so
interesting in the first place.
You would think with one who has gone through
so much he would be tired and yet to watch him
as he talks and gestures about something he is
so very passionate about, you would think he
was about 18 fresh out of high school and ready to
explore.
Explore was always something he liked to do
whether it be the caves of the superstitious mountains
or just our own backyard. He made it exciting
for us too.
And although he doesn't wear blue spandex body suits,
(he just prefers flannels and jeans) and although he doesn't fly,
(he likes his jeep to much)
and although his name isn't Clark Kent,
My father is Superman to me

Bleeding Hero
How can I explain my feelings to you? My bitter, tarnished love, how it burns in my throat like too much soda. How I hate that I love you more than you know. But I love you all the same.
I am the burnt-out streetlight under the falling night sky. The fleeting joy of a balloon that slips away to the clouds. And I'm sick of band-aids that don't work, I'm sick of being the bleeding hero.
Don't you realize what I'm worth? You dropped me like a penny on the street corner and everything went black. I gave you a choice and you ripped my love to shreds.
Love isn't what I read about in sweet-dream magazines. It's not worth the doubt, but

Save Me
She sits there, behind the pane of glass, mocking me with her eyes. I can see her, through the words I write, even through these words, right now. Her long dark hair, her dusky skin, the brilliantly white teeth standing out from full, sensuous lips, and, finally, the deep wells of her eyes, endless depths concealed in the orange-brown iris.
Her lips form the words, almost as if she mirrors my thoughts; save me. I know that if I heed her, if I give in to my instincts, the world will be a different place; mere people, those ghosts I see around me every day, would be transient, flat, two-dimensional, while she would solidify, grow, become

I Wonder
I Wonder
I wonder if five years from now,
I'll still consider "Iron Man",
A better movie than "Transformers"?
They both rocked my world,
But "Transformers" blew more shit up!
On the other hand,
More people died in "Iron Man"
I wonder if my love affair with cheesecake,
Will last until I die
Seriously, I do, I'm not kidding
Cheesecake turns me into a puddle of goo,
Every...single...time...I...eat...it
I love it more than I love me,
And people, I love me a LOT!
I wonder if my cats are really insane,
Or if maybe they do crazy shit,
Just for the fun of it
I'm thinking they do it to piss me off,
While I'm trying to sl

This is a great, well-done poem. The best surprise was at the end.
